As an artist or arts organization, you have to be able to be competitive and sell yourself. To sell yourself, you need to be able to validate your product in the eyes of others who may or may not understand what you do. And, since you'll be competing with other art professionals for many of the same attendees, customers, and dollars, you need a clearly articulated and identifiable professional identity.
This course will explore mission statements, need/problem statements, strategic plans, target markets, and goal-setting, all within the realm of developing your professional identity as an artist or arts organization.
