Producing art is generally not inexpensive. We as artists need money to survive and to make our art. But, many of us don’t always have full-time, salaried jobs or trust funds. So, how do we go about paying for the work that we want to produce? We need to fundraise!
This course is designed to help you understand the fundraising game so you can play to win. By utilizing the tools we provide, you can effectively begin raising money to support you work (and maybe even pay yourself!). We will offer overviews about American capitalist traditions, 501(c)(3) non-profits, fiscal sponsorship and other innovative fundraising tools, individual giving, institutional and foundation giving, and best practices when fundraising for an artistic project or organization.
